What We Craft
Custom Trouser Tailoring
Services in Delhi
From formal suit trousers to linen summer trousers — our Delhi tailors build each pair around your exact dimensions, silhouette preference, and the occasion they're made for.
01
Formal Suit Trousers
Precision-cut dress trousers to complete a two- or three-piece suit. Flat-front or pleated, side-adjusters or belt loops, plain hem or turn-up. Crafted in the same cloth as your jacket or in a complementary weight for a harmonious pairing.
02
Made-to-Measure Trousers
The fast route to a precise fit. Starting from a block pattern adjusted to your twelve key measurements, our made-to-measure trousers in Delhi deliver a dramatically better result than off-the-rack in half the lead time of full bespoke.
03
Tuxedo & Evening Trousers
Black-tie demands a single braided side seam — grosgrain or satin — and a flat, crease-free front. Our tuxedo trouser tailors in Delhi work in fine barathea, gabardine, and silk-wool, with no side pockets and a high waist for formal wear proportions.
04
Linen & Summer Trousers
Loose-fit or tailored linen trousers built for Delhi's long, punishing summers. Elasticated or tab-waist options, drawstring or open hems. The most-worn piece in the warm-weather wardrobe, done properly.
05
Business & Smart Trousers
Slim, tapered, or classic-fit trousers in tropical wool or cotton for daily professional wear. Built to hold their shape across a full working week, press cleanly, and pair with any jacket in your wardrobe.
06
Matching Trousers for Existing Jacket
A second pair for a beloved suit, or trousers to complete an orphaned jacket. We match or co-ordinate fabric weight, weave, and colour. The most practical commission for extending a wardrobe that already fits well on top.
The 12 Measurements Behind a Perfect Trouser
Readymade trousers are cut from two measurements — waist and inseam. Our Delhi tailors take twelve. Here's what each one does.
Waist
Taken at your natural waist or chosen rise point. The number readymade gets right — but everything else is where they fail.
Seat
Hip circumference at the fullest point. The most common readymade fail — too tight pulls, too loose bunches at the thigh.
Thigh
Circumference at the fork seam. Determines whether the trouser drapes cleanly or strains across the leg.
Knee
The taper point. Controls the visual line from thigh to hem and whether the trouser looks elegant or baggy.
Calf & Bottom Width
Leg opening determines the break on the shoe — half, full, or no break — and the overall silhouette.
Front Rise
Distance from waistband to fork at front. Determines where the waistband sits and the flatness of the front panel.
Back Rise
Longer than the front, accounts for posture and seat curve. Incorrect back rise causes pulling creases.
Inseam
Inside leg length. The only measurement most readymade brands offer — entirely insufficient on its own.
Outseam
Side seam from waist to hem. Combined with inseam, determines crotch curve and trouser fall.
Crotch Curve
The shape of the seat seam. The right curve eliminates horizontal drag lines and pulling.
Waistband Depth
The height of the waistband. Matched to shirt length, jacket front and personal comfort.
Posture Note
Tilt, sway back, prominent seat, or uneven hips are built into the pattern so both legs hang cleanly.
Every Detail, Chosen by You
A custom trouser is more than a fit — it's a set of deliberate decisions that define the garment's character. Here are the choices our Delhi tailors guide you through.
Pleat Style
Flat front for a clean, modern silhouette. Single forward pleat for comfort and classical drape. Double forward or reverse pleat for the most generous, elegant cut.
Waistband
Standard belt-loop waistband, extended tab waistband, or braces buttons with no loops. Waistband height varies according to the rise selected.
Rise
Low rise, mid rise, or high rise. Each creates a different body proportion and pairs differently with shirts and jackets.
Pockets
Slanted side pockets, straight on-seam pockets, jetted side pockets, or no side pockets for tuxedo trousers.
Hem Finish
Plain pressed hem for a clean contemporary finish, or turn-up cuff for classic tailoring character and visual weight.
Side Seam Braid
A single stripe of grosgrain or satin down the outside seam. Required for tuxedo trousers and optional for formal day wear.

What Delhi Says About Us
Had my wedding sherwani made here. The fit was perfect and the embroidery detail was extraordinary. Mr. Talreja takes a personal interest in every garment. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience in Delhi.
Rahul Malhotra
I’ve tried tailors across Delhi and nothing comes close to Suit Up. The Scabal fabric suit I commissioned is the finest piece of clothing I own. Every detail was handled with absolute precision.
Avinash Kapoor
The process was smooth from measurement to delivery. Three trial fittings, incredible attention to the shoulder and chest fall. My Bandhgala looked like something off a runway. Highly recommend.
Vikram Singh
Came for a three-piece suit and left wanting to redo my entire wardrobe. The process was smooth, the trial fitting thorough, and the result exceptional. The best bespoke tailor in Delhi by a distance.

Trouser Tailoring in Delhi
Everything you need to know about bespoke trousers, made-to-measure trousers, formal trouser tailoring, and custom trouser tailoring in Delhi.
Bespoke trousers are cut from an original paper pattern drafted uniquely to your body — covering all twelve measurements including rise, seat curve, thigh, and posture — with at least two fittings. Every detail is decided fresh. Best for difficult proportions, formal suiting, or long-term investment pieces. Priced from ₹7,000. Made-to-measure trousers start from a standard block pattern adjusted to your key measurements. Typically one fitting, 7–10 days turnaround, priced from ₹3,500. Excellent for business trousers where the proportions are closer to standard and the timeline matters. Both levels include a pattern kept on file permanently for future reorders.
Custom trouser pricing in Delhi by type: Linen or cotton casual trousers: from ₹3,000. Made-to-measure business trousers: ₹3,500 – ₹5,500. Formal suit trousers (MTM): ₹4,500 – ₹7,000. Bespoke formal trousers in premium worsted: ₹7,000 – ₹12,000. Tuxedo trousers with satin braid: from ₹8,000. Italian or English mill fabric trousers: ₹10,000 – ₹18,000. All prices include one to two fittings and a pattern retained on file.
Made-to-measure trousers are typically ready in 7 to 10 working days. Bespoke trousers with a full fitting process take 12 to 18 working days. Rush orders for events or travel can be completed in 3–5 days at an additional charge. For suit trousers being made to match a jacket in progress, allow the jacket lead time plus 3–5 days.
Our Delhi trouser tailors take up to twelve measurements for a precise fit: waist, seat (hip), thigh circumference, knee circumference, calf/leg opening, inseam length, outseam length, front rise, back rise, waistband depth, crotch curve, and a posture note for tilt, sway back, prominent seat, or uneven hips. This posture analysis is built directly into the pattern — so both legs hang level, the front panel lies flat, and the seat seam follows your natural curve without pulling horizontally. Readymade trousers are cut from two of these twelve dimensions. That is why the difference is so immediately visible.
Delhi trouser tailors are skilled in a full range of styles: flat-front formal trousers, single and double pleated trousers (forward or reverse pleat), high-waisted trousers, wide-leg trousers, tapered and slim-fit trousers, tuxedo trousers with grosgrain or satin side braid, linen and summer trousers, chinos, and churidar or salwar-cut trousers for Indo-western wear. Every style is fully customisable — waistband (belt loops, tab, or braces buttons), pocket style (slant, on-seam, jetted, or no pockets), hem finish (plain or turn-up), and any braid or piping detail.
Summer (April–June): Linen, cotton-linen blends, and lightweight cotton twill. Breathable and comfortable through Delhi's most intense heat. Monsoon (July–September): Quick-drying cotton or cotton-synthetic blends. Winter (November–February): Flannel, heavier worsted wool, moleskin, and cashmere blends for warmth and drape. Year-round: Tropical worsted wool (100s or 120s) — light enough for eight months and appropriate through mild winters. For tuxedo trousers: fine barathea or gabardine. For business trousers: worsted or tropical wool. For festive Indian wear: dupion silk, raw silk, or cotton-silk blends. Premium Italian (Loro Piana, Zegna) and English mill fabrics (Holland & Sherry, Scabal) available on request.
A well-fitted trouser has five defining characteristics: (1) The waistband sits at the chosen rise point without gaping at the back or digging at the front. (2) The seat has no excess fabric pooling or horizontal drag lines — it follows the curve of the body cleanly. (3) The thigh has comfortable movement room without bagging fabric when standing. (4) The front panel hangs flat with no creases radiating from the crotch. (5) The hem breaks cleanly at the shoe — a half-break for slim trousers, a full break for wider cuts, no break for a very contemporary look. Achieving all five simultaneously is impossible with readymade sizing. Custom trouser tailoring in Delhi corrects every dimension independently.
Yes — this is one of the most practical custom trouser commissions in Delhi, and one of the most common. If you have suit fabric remnants, the tailor uses them directly for a perfect match. If not, the tailor assesses the weight, weave, and colour of your jacket or suit in person and sources a closely matching cloth. Many clients also commission a second pair of trousers for a bespoke suit — because suit trousers typically wear out before the jacket, and a second pair dramatically extends the life of the suit. Bring the jacket and existing trousers to the first consultation.
Flat-front trousers have a smooth, unpleated front panel. They suit a slimmer, more contemporary silhouette and work best on those with a lean waist-to-hip ratio where there is no excess fabric needing accommodation. Pleated trousers — single or double, forward or reverse — allow significantly more room across the thigh and seat, drape more elegantly when standing, and sit more comfortably throughout the day. They are the classical choice, particularly for formal suiting, and have seen a significant sartorial revival globally. Our Delhi tailors will recommend based on your measurements, fabric weight, and the silhouette you want. For most men with a seat measurement more than 10–12 cm larger than the waist, a single pleat produces a far more elegant result than forcing a flat front.
For most people, yes — and the trouser is arguably the garment where readymade fails most visibly. A trouser must fit the waist, seat, thigh, rise, and inseam simultaneously, and these five dimensions vary independently across individuals. Readymade brands cut to statistical averages; even expensive alterations can only partially correct a poor starting fit. A custom trouser from a Delhi tailor is built to all twelve of your dimensions simultaneously — resulting in a garment that requires no alteration, hangs correctly at the shoe, holds its crease, and lasts years longer because the cloth isn't under constant strain. In the mid-to-premium price bracket, custom trouser tailoring in Delhi consistently outperforms readymade on every metric that matters.
